Menopause Health Clinic (Well woman)

The Menopause Health Clinic is a dedicated clinic available to our patients.

The Clinic is focused on providing holistic care to treat the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause as well as a focusing on health and wellbeing.

The Clinic has an emphasis on prevention, health promotion and screening of disease that can arise from hormonal shifts in a woman’s body during menopause and midlife.

What to expect..

Your Menopause Health Assessment will take place over two planned appointments.

First Visit – Nurse

The first visit is with our practice nurse.

The nurse will take your blood tests including cholesterol and blood sugar, important measurements such as weight , height and blood pressure and provide a health questionnaire.

This questionnaire along with reviewing our education recourses will highlight any specific health concerns that you may have in preparation for your review appointment.

Second Visit – Doctor

A follow up appointment with a GP with a special interest in menopause is arranged.

The follow up is person centred and can include discussion / prescription of treatment options including hormone replacement therapy.

The follow up will also include dedicated personalised advice regarding cardiovascular health, bone health, pelvic health and general wellbeing.

Also available is discussion of medication to help with weight loss where appropriate and contraceptive services as well as ensuring that appropriate cervical and breast screening programmes are up to date.
